C’Qua – Singapore home baker’s Rose Watermelon Cake marries fruits in a unique way!

C’Qua sounded like Xi Gua (西瓜) in mandarin which I thought was aptly and creatively named.

Launched on December 2017, C’Qua’s signature Rose Watermelon Cake made its appearance with a uniquely different profile. Delicately crafted by Yvonne, a humble and cheery home baker, the cake is nothing like the fruit cake I usually have. Instead it comes with a slab of watermelon sandwiched between smooth cream and light french pastry, while studded with a beautiful crown of fresh strawberries and sprinkles of edible flowers.

Besides the visual appeal, taste-wise it was refreshing and light on the palette despite the seemingly thick cream layers. The watermelon’s juiciness was a surprise element as I got that watery crunch when I bit into the flesh, followed by a tingling sweetness from the sponge cake.

Got my colleagues to try too and they liked how the cake could be thirst-quenching!

Prices start from $58 onwards!
