WOKWOK Zi Char-inspired Cereal Prawn Potato Chips by the team behind Ah Tan Wings

Nowadays potato chips come in all sorts of flavour. I have tried many, starting with truffle-flavoured ones which used to be the talk of the town, to savoury asian-inspired chips like the salted egg, spicy mala, kimchi, chilli crab, bacon and even satay.

Speaking of which, one of the newest addition to the world of chips is the Cereal Prawn Potato Chips launched just this October by WOKWOK. Founded by two young gentlemen who also own the hawker stall, Ah Tan Wings, in Yishun, these chips were born from their kitchen, which I find to be very original and resonating with our local culture.

Truth be told, the cereal prawn is one of my favourite zi char dish. Amidst high hopes, I was pleasantly surprised at how close the flavours of WOKWOK’s version is to what I remembered.

Each piece of the chips is full of flavour. It was a little sweet at the start but as I had a few more, I could feel the heat from the chips alongside the tasty crunch of the cereal. At the base of the pack, there were lots of cereal, little dried shrimps and crispy curry leaves. Best is to shake well before consuming. Then you would get a well-balanced bag of chips.

This Cerealsly Good Cereal Prawn Potato Chips are retailing at $7.90 per pack.

You can now get them at Raffles Xchange from 19 Nov to 21 Dec, on weekdays 10am to 7pm or online!
