WAN Nightclub + Asian Cuisine with a Modern Twist at Suntec City

The one-stop location for food and clubbing, WAN Bar + Kitchen & Nightclub 玩晚碗, is one of the latest addition to the North Wing of Suntec City. Featuring an outdoor gastrobar, tickle your tastebud from an exciting list of asian dishes with a modern twist. Pair your meal with WAN’s one-of-a-kind Alcohol Bubble Tea series, where your childhood drinks receive an alcoholic infusion and come served in their respective floats.

As night falls, hop over to the nightclub and be enveloped in the high-energy pulsing beats with WAN’s resident DJs and eclectic performers.

You know you can never outgrow bubble tea, especially when you are having one concocted by award-winning master mixologist Steve Leong. With each Bubble Tea Cocktails $18 cleverly named, take your pick whether you would like to be in a LDR Long Distance Relationship, with The ‘Ex’ Lover, The ‘Casanova’, Childhood Sweetheart or The Singapore Sling.

My heart went out to The ‘Casanova’, a definite winner showered in Hendrick’s Gin, rose syrup, and burst of lychee balls.

WAN’s menu is as follows:

The Wantou Sliders makes an interesting twist to the mantou (dunk in chilli crab sauce) we usually have.

We tried the Asian Butter Poached Crab $20 where the crispy, fluffy mantous were generously stuffed with chunky crab meats and topped with a dollop of caviar. Each bite was a sinful delight filled with the fragrance of infused lemongrass butter and sweetness of the crab.

The Truffle Fries $12 and Salted Egg Yolk Fish Skin $14would go great with beers.

I liked how the taste of the truffle was prominent in the crispy shoestring fries. As for the fish skin, they were beautifully coated in creamy golden salted egg yolk sauce which had us salivating at the sight of it.

One of WAN’s highlights is the ‘Yours for Wan night’ Signature Fried Hokkein Mee $18.

A very classic and Singaporean-styled noodle dish with the taste of wok-hei, served in a wet version with yellow and white noodles. It caught us all by surprise how well the dish was being executed. The portion was good enough for two to three persons too.

The Crouching Tiger Beef Steak Donburi $24 featured slices of tender, char-grilled ribeye alongside pickles and a sixty-WAN degree egg. The beef itself was tasty on its own, with spices and hints of lemongrass. Mix it in with the gooey yolk and rice, the combination was an explosion of flavours on the tastebud.

Some other mains worth mentioning include the Chang-e’s Moonlight Ribeye Beef Hor fan $20, Indomie Flavoured Buttermilk Fried Chicken $24 and Nyonya ‘Pongteh’ Braised Pork Belly $24.

Besides being an entertainment ground for night clubbers, WAN has amazed us with quality mains and snacks too.  With a careful play of modern dynamicity in traditional cuisine, WAN made food trendy and definitely more appealing to the younger masses as well.
