WAN Bar & Kitchen – Adult Bubble Tea & New Playful Menu of Wok Fried Omu Rice, Mala Prawns & Wanton Donuts

Fancy grabbing a drink and a couple of bites after work? Conveniently situated in Suntec City, WAN Bar + Kitchen is a happening gastro bar serving up Asian inspired drinks and bar bites.

On top of classic shooters and cocktails, WAN Bar + Kitchen’s talented team mixes up Bubble Tea for Adults – alcoholic drinks inspired by Asian concoctions and desserts, and cheekily named after different relationships like LDR ($15), Childhood Sweetheart ($15), and The Singapore Fling ($15). Pretty innovative and accurate in terms of how the flavours are matched with their respective relationship statuses!

Keeping bar patrons happy and filled is a range of appetisers, side dishes, and main courses that also have roots in our comforting, familiar Asian cuisine.

Locally inspired starters include the Rock and Roll Ngo Hiang, made with minced pork glazed with Chinese vinegar and chipotle sauce.

The Movers and Shakers deserve recognition for its quirky packaging of fried chicken skin with a choice of mala or seaweed powder, served with a cheery paper bag for you to “move and shake” those flavours together.

Can’t get enough of the tongue-numbing flavour that is mala? Satisfy your spice cravings with the Mala Mafia Prawns, which features plump tiger prawns served with signature mala cream, chilli, and Melba toast. Talk about marrying the East and West in one dish!

The Angel Hair Pasta with Mentaiko And Scallops is artfully plated with refreshing flavours and choice ingredients and yields a delightful burst of umami. Compared with the other rich tasting dishes, this is one of the lightest tasting creations on the menu and my favourite of the night!

More Asian fusion comes into play with the Cheesy Lobster Carrot Cake, which at first glance, resembles a Korean seafood pancake. This glammed up version of the traditional carrot cake is rich, sinful, and good for sharing.

The Wok Fried Omurice is another dish that combines Singaporean and Japanese influences to give diners the best of both worlds, with the runny omelette resembling a blanket over a mound of wok-fried rice, luncheon meat, shallots, and mushrooms.

Last but not least, round up your meal with dessert: Wantou Donuts with Bandung, Peanut, and Kaya dip. My favourite is definitely the Kaya dip! Would love to see a “Russian roulette” version with alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of each dip.
