The Alley Luxe Cineleisure – Taiwan Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk Tea & Pastries

Popular Taiwanese Bubble Tea chain, The Alley, has hit the shores with the first Singapore outlet in Jewel Changi Airport, followed by the opening of the second outlet, The Alley Luxe, branded as a lifestyle concept cafe in Cineleisure. Other countries that you can find The Alley includes Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Korean.

There were both long queues at The Alley in Jewel Changi Airport and Cineleisure with the latter being more efficient in serving the drinks.

Besides the recommended signature Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk $5.30, The Alley Luxe also offers a range of pastries such as the cruffins, croissants, and kouign amann.

The Brown Sugar Series features flavours like Cocoa/Matcha Brown Sugar Deerioca Fresh Milk $6.30. Other options include the Lulu Fresh Fruit Series (e.g. Snow Strawberry Lulu $6.30), Brewed Teas, Milk Teas and the colourful drinks aptly named Northern Lights $8 and Morning Dawn $8.

We tried the Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk $5.30 and the streaks of brown sugar sprawled across the inner side of the cup were more than enough to win hearts for its appearance. It was a smooth tasting drink though the amount of brown sugar appeared to be less than expected. Unlike the one I had in Malaysia, the pearls here were also firmer and chewier.

As for the Matcha Brown Sugar Deerioca Fresh Milk $6.30, it was decent but the matcha taste seemed faint in my opinion.
