Rilakkuma Cafe by Kumoya opens at Orchard Central for six months

Kumoya has recently collaborated with Japanese brand San-X, bringing Rilakkuma into the cafe scene at Orchard Central.

Opened on 29 August 2020, Rilakkuma – The Relax Cafe will be available as a six-month pop-up. There are nine mains offered, adorably styled from a sleeping Rilakkuma, to burger, fishcake and rice moulded into the shape of its face. If you would like to get an exclusive Rilakkuma bucket, it comes along with any order of the snacks at $29.90.

Menu

Prices for mains range from $23.90 to $29.90. We tried the Chirpy Kiiroitori Beef Stew Rice $23.90 and Rilakkuma Chill-out Tendon Rice Set $27.90.

The beef stew was quite tasty though some parts of the meats were a tad tough. Though it said steamed carrots on the menu, the carrots were pretty raw when served. The rice was infused with turmeric and gives the bright yellow colour to represent the chick. We felt that it tasted better than the teriyaki rice used in the tendon rice bowl which was bland.

For the tendon rice bowl, there were tempura such as salmon, prawn, enoki mushroom and some vegetables, fried till crispy good.

We wanted to get the Relaxy Rilakkuma Chicken Corden Bleu $29.90 which looked really appetising. Unfortunately, it was unavailable that day.
