Peony Jade Rabbit, Pure Mao Shan Wang Durian & Fruity Snowskin Mooncakes for this Mid-Autumn Festival

Besides popular mainstays such as the Flaky Teochew Orh Ni and POSH Premium 100% Pure Black Gold Mao Shan Wang Durian Snowskin Mooncake, Peony Jade is back this Mid-Autumn Festival with a series of local-inspired/ exotic/ fruity/ adorable mooncakes and new additions – BERRYLICIOUS, CHOC-A-ROCK, Peony Jade Rabbit and the Collector’s Eight Treasures Combo LA VIE EN ROSE and BANOFFEE.

When it comes to Peony Jade, the widely acclaimed Premium AAA Grade 100% Pure Mao Shan Wang Durian Mooncake in Organic Pandan Snowskin [$58 for 2pc, $92 for 4pcs) has been a hit among journalists, foodies and locals alike.

The palm-sized mooncake, impossibly stuffed with creamy delicious goodness and dotted with durian pulps, needs no more mention for a tug of your wallet. Even more rewarding is the incredibly soft snowskin that melts in my mouth like cotton candy. Happening only once per year, don’t let these slip out of your grasp.

Peony Jade’s new mini snowskin themed mooncake – Fruits of the Fall – has stumbled into this season.

Tuck into the BERRYLICIOUS Mini Snowskin Mooncake with Black Chia Seeds, Black Berries Bits & Coconut Mousse Centre ($72 for 8pcs). Be prepared for each bite to be filled with acerbic burst of berries surrounded by light airy mousse.

The Collector’s Eight Treasures ($72 for 8pcs) consists of four LA VIE EN ROSE and four BANOFFEE.

LA VIE EN ROSE Mini Snowskin reminded me of a lychee mousse cake brilliantly crafted into a mooncake.

Comprising of Watermelon, Lychee Crème Diplomat with Dehydrated Rose, Strawberries and Almond Sable as the base, it is one of the most exquisite-tasting mooncake I have had where each component complements one another well.

Like Yin and Yang, hop over to the dark side with the BANOFFEE Mini Snowskin featuring a Dark Valrhona Chocolate centre, Salted Peanut Caramel Crumble, Vanilla Marshmallow and Banana. Richer in flavours than their counterparts, the BANOFFEE overflows with bittersweet chocolate that would make chocoholics swoon.
