Farm-to-Table Creations: Pan Pacific Hotels & PARKROYAL Hotels Team Up For World Food Day 2017

Eat well, do good, contribute to society!

To commemorate World Food Day on 16th October 2017, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has garnered senior chefs from the 5 Singapore hotels made up of Pan Pacific Hotels and PARKROYAL Hotels for the creation of new dishes with ingredients specially sourced from local farms. This is in partnership with urban farm Comcrop Singapore where mushrooms, vegetables, eggs, herbs and fish are used in tandem with the produces from farms in Lim Chu Kang too. Here’s the chance for diners to enioy farm-to-table dining experience.


Diners can now savour these delectable creations exclusively on the dinner buffet from 15 July to 15 August at the respective hotels:

Pan Pacific Singapore, Pan Pacific Orchard, PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, PARKROYAL on Beach Road and PARKROYAL on Pickering.

Not only do diners like yourselves get to eat well, at the same time, you can help contribute to the needy families in society. 1% of the dinner proceeds will be donated towards The Food Bank Singapore where food parcels will be purchased for low-income households, in a bid to combat against hunger too.

To promote farm-to-table eating with sustainable dishes, chefs from their respective hotels have produced a list of SIX tantalising dishes. Simply put, dish(es) created by the chefs from the particular hotel will be present in that hotel’s dinner buffet.

The six dishes are:

1. Tea-Smoked Soft Yolk Egg

Specially curated by Executive Chef Eric Ong for World Food Day

A twist on the traditional Shanghainese dish with salmon roe added to create a unique modern flavour

2. Spiced Dust Mushroom Fritters

Specially curated by Executive Chef Michele Greggio for World Food Day

Home-grown assorted mushrooms consisting of king oyster, abalone, and golden spring mushroom fried to crispiness and dusted in specially concocted spices

3. Light Veloute Hairy Gourd Soup

Specially curated by Executive Sous Chef Patrick Ooi for World Food Day

Surprisingly tasty, light and believed to have a cooling effect on the body

4. Steamed Seabream Fillet

Specially curated by Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat for World Food Day

Steamed fish nutritiously prepared with home grown organic fungus and spinach as a healthier choice

5. Baked Barramundi Fish Fillet

Specially curated by Executive Chef Andy Oh for World Food Day

Slow baked local-breed barramundi garnished in premium pesto, rocket leaf and dill

6. Baked Tilapia Fillet in Carta Fata

Specially curated by Executive Chef Eric Ong for World Food Day

Rich in Omega-3, the Tilapia comes in a kimchi clam broth that warms the belly

Featured is the Lemon Meringue Tart with Lime Sorbet by Lime at PARKROYAL on Pickering.

This is available in smaller dainty tartlet version on the buffet. Do keep a lookout for this while you dine at Lime!

World Food Day is an annual event celebrated on 16 October. It is widely recognised by countries across the globe. By adopting a theme every year, it forms a common focus on specific issues to be tackled. Issues range from agriculture to nature diversity, climate changes and so on, in the pursuit of increasing awareness and taking action on eating well, sustainability and conservation.
