Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar for Drinkstagram Craft Cocktails

Located in the penthouse of WOLO Bukit Bintang, Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar is hardly considered a hidden find since the tables were mostly occupied with nicely-clad ladies and gentlemen. There was probably an unspoken rule about the dress code and the service crews were too nice to turn me down.

Or maybe I just look like a hotel guest.

We had to walk past the restaurant to get to the quieter bar above. There was an abundance of plush sofas spaced comfortably apart to allow for privacy. It was dimly lit and perfect for some intimate conversations, I thought. As I looked down from the railing, I noticed that there were private seatings for large groups too.

Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar found a place in my diary of craft cocktails. The cocktail list is fun with palatable choices. You can opt for the Everyday drink that’s refreshing and easy-going, or go a notch higher with the spirit-forward Strong & Harmonious. The Drinkstagram caught my eyes as it should be, with worded theatrics which I was starting to visualise in my head.

Each of the cocktails is unique in its own way, with concoctions that you could only find here.

I chose the Inferno RM58 since I like Whisky and I enjoyed a dancing fire at the rim of my glass.

The cocktail is a mix of Japanese Whisky, Bentong Ginger Wine, Homemade Red Dates and Ginseng Liqueur and Spiced Pomegranate Juice.

And here comes the fire-fall…

Since the place was rather dark, the fire shone through brightly and beautifully.

It was an interesting drink topped with a snow fungus. There’s a hint of sweetness punctuating the bitter base.

The bill came up to RM67.30 = SGD 22.14 (RM1 = SGD0.33 as of 16 Dec). Prices can be a little steep here but well, you get the ambience and a nice performance, plus something that actually has kick.
