Marina Square Cake Club Pop-up brings Popular Cakes from Top Cafes under One Roof

Love cakes? How about a place that houses all your favourite cakes under one roof?

Join Cake Club, a pop-up dessert extravaganza (that is a pretty cool stand-in home to all great cakes), located on the rooftop garden in Marina Square. There are 14 cake and dessert vendors participating in Cake Club from now till 26 August 2018. When you enter, you’re greeted by simply a bunch of cakes and candy colours!

Here, you can find cakes from outlets like Birds of Paradise, Bloomsbury Bakers, Kohi-Koji, CIEL Patisserie, Milk Moons, inthebrickyard, My Sister Bakes, Lickety Ice Cream and Waffles (4 & 5 August), Creme Maison, Edith Patisserie, Boufe Boutique Cafe, Lynn’s Cakes, The Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf @ The Dining Edition.

It’s a large space. We chose to sit at a nice “Diving” corner (Dive Into Cake) at the side of the shop and ordered two cakes and two drinks. The first cake that arrived was the unique Orh Nee (Yam) cake by Bloomsbury Bakers, priced at $6.50. Bloomsbury Bakers are inspired by local desserts and their Orh Nee Cake was brilliant.

It was soft, fluffy and tasted just nice. We love how it was not overly sweet or overwhelming! It had this muted taste which worked in its favour (flavour)!

Next up was the Mon Cheri $7.50 from CIEL Patisserie. This shop was founded by Singapore’s own Chara Lum, who studied at the renowned French Culinary Arts School, Le Cordon Bleu Paris.

This spherical magical chocolate and cherry dessert was a superb combo match with the orh nee! With absolutely delicious rich chocolate mousse (64%), kirsh infused morello cherry confit, crispy feuilletine and kirsh chantilly, it complemented the sweet meekness of the orh nee!

The Mon Cheri is like their rendition of the black forest cake. It was so yummy! Definitely a must-try if you’re here.

The teas by 1872 Clipper Tea and Co. were fragrant and lightly sweetened with honey! We had the All Day Breakfast and Blissful Berries teas, both at $4.50.

Look forward to fun cake and cookie making workshops (2pm – 4pm), which can be booked from https://cakeclub/peatrix.com/!

The Cake Club pop-up is flanked by lots of cake quotes and quirky cake decors around the shop – giving off a cheery, hipster vibe! “Enjoy Life, Eat Cake!” and “Life’s too Short to say No to Cake”, are some of the adorable catchphrases we saw.

Enough sunlight streams in through the windows to keep Cake Club looking fresh and happy. Oh, did we mention this place attracts loads of kids too!
