New Marina Square App offers Food & Retail Discounts with No Minimum Spending

In the spirit of Christmas and of new beginnings, Marina Square has officially launched their Marina Square app (available for download on smartphones) on the 18th December 2017 and it has been a hit with shoppers for good reason, because who doesn’t love good deals on shopping and food?

And yes, you should be visiting Marina Square with their app downloaded in your phones – because the discounts are really awesome! Merchants include Megafash, Grab, Suki-ya, Dal.Komm etc, ranging from restaurants, cafes, hair salon, gifts, beddings, electronics, eyewear, jewellery and more. (More information on how to download the app is at the end of the post).

Discounts, Discounts, Discounts!

When I first heard about the $10 Megafash voucher that shoppers can redeem with NO minimum purchase, I was thinking ‘really?’.

You can shop at MegaFash with this $10 e-voucher if you download the app (valid only for the first 290 customers between 29 Dec 2017 to 28 Feb 2018!) That pricey but good quality bag you’ve been eyeing for Chinese New Year? It’s now yours for ten dollars less.

Other jaw-dropping promotions consist of a $6 Grab voucher (which can be redeemed if you’re travelling from Marina Square to someplace else), and a whole bunch of food e-vouchers too!

Suki-ya

Those who love hotpot would be thrilled to know you are in for a treat.

Present the $5 Suki-Ya e-Voucher to get the discount off your final bill – you can even split the bill so each person gets $5 off their own bills.

Marina Square’s Suki-ya definitely surprised with their spacious yet cosy interior, coupled with an accessible buffet table in the middle.

We get to select which meats we wanted before entering the restaurant, and we had the option of chicken, pork and beef! The two bases I selected were 1) Tonyu Miso (Pleasantly salty, milky in colour) and 2) Kimuchi (this was fantastic! Strong kimchi flavour without the extreme sourness).

The rest of the buffet consisted of vegetables like corn, tomatoes, cabbages, lotus root, etc, and other hotpot ingredients. The noodles available were udon, ramen and crispy noodles. Sauce-wise, I feel the selection was slightly limited, but my favourite was their spicy miso tare sauce – mix in the egg, garlic and coriander and you’ve got a winning dip!

After discount it’s about $13++ since it’s $18.99++ for an adult’s lunch on a weekday. Very worth it in my opinion! Plus there’s no big lunch crowd rush here – makes for a peaceful meal with a nice view!

Dal.Komm

Tea break at Dal.Komm, a Korean coffee and cake cafe franchise, was peaceful and relaxing.

You can use the $2 Dal.Komm e-Voucher in this shop. (Note: The $5 e-Voucher is fully redeemed, so hurry while stocks last for the other one!)

The cafe is minimalistic, grungy and cosy all at once, and I really enjoyed relaxing on the leather chairs! We ordered a Rose Latte (white cup) for $6.50, and had to select which “K-level” we’d like.

K1 has a smooth, clean, well-balanced flavour; K2 is sweet, citrusy with creamy body; while K3 is flowery, fruity with strong body. We went for K1. Turns out the rose latte tasted perfect; I’m not exaggerating. It’s seriously very good. I’d keep going back there just to drink the rose latte.

We also ordered a Paddle Pop Cheesecake $8.90. It tasted alright but appearance-wise, was very pretty and colorful! The crust was my favourite part – it was baked well and even had a slight taro flavour to it.
