Little House of Dreams at Dempsey Hill – Unicorn-themed Bistro and Bakery

With Unicorn desserts in the trend, having a unicorn-themed bistro in Singapore is simply timely.

Aptly named Little house of Dreams, this beautiful bistro located in Dempsey Hill looks almost like a bungalow with a charming decor, high ceiling and a mini garden alfresco. Amazingly, the interior sparkles with fairy lights against the gentle pastel hues of the bistro. It feels like a dream in wonderland.

Needless say, some would find it a perfect spot for their OOTDs, a quiet afternoon with girlfriends or for events as lavish as a weddings, 21st birthday or baby showers.

Specialising in an array of desserts such as customised cakes, cookies and macarons, Little House of Dreams would have you swept with the majestic display of tier unicorn cake, unicorn-shaped macarons, edible flower pots of over 10 flavours and assorted sliced cakes like the red velvet and rainbow cake at the counter.

Diners can even order from Ben and Jerry’s which shares the same space as Little House of Dreams too.

Available for a limited time only, the Unicorn Set Menu is priced at $45.90 which comes with a starter, one main and a dessert. Unicorn drinks – Strawberry Magic $14.90 and Fantasy Chocolate $8.90 – are served in shades of pink and blue respectively with over-the-top garnishing. Instagram-worthy!

The Rainbow Twists is part of the mains in the set menu. Essentially a prawn aglio olio, the dish is elevated with the addition of colourful pasta!

Definitely first-of-a-kind in Singapore. Surprisingly and thankfully, the taste wasn’t that bad either.

To commemorate Singapore’s 52nd birthday, the Nasi Lemak Rice Burger made its presence in the menu.

Featuring a deconstructed nasi lemak in the form of an open-faced burger, this dish stole my heart with the crunchy fried chicken, rice and sambal with the nostalgic flavours from that of a nasi lemak.
