Kwee Zeen Halloween Sunday Champagne Brunch with fascinating desserts at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa

Halloween is over but I can’t stop thinking about the three-hour long Halloween Sunday Champagne Brunch I had at Kwee Zeen two weekends ago. On 28th October, we went to Kwee Zeen at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, brimming with anticipation.

Prices are similar to their usual Sunday Brunch at the following:

$175++ per adult with free-flow Tattinger Champagne, wine, soft drinks and juices
$145++ per adult with free-flow of soft drinks and juices (non-alcoholic)
$65++ per child with free-flow soft drinks and juices

Some of the highlights from the Halloween brunch included the Mayura Wagyu Beef, Whole Tuna Fish, Premium Seafood, Halloween desserts, and Nitrogen Ice Cream! There were also kid’s activities in the alfresco such as Face Painting and Table Trick-O-Treating while a live band livened up the atmosphere.

A barista was spotted at the Bloody Mary pushcart, whipping up cocktails at your request. He could almost be the grim reaper if he had his scythe and black cloak.

The walkway into the restaurant was lined with ragged zombies and dusty spider webs. Peeling apart the bloody curtains at the entrance, my heart swelled in joy at the sight of the Halloween desserts.

While some gave us the death stare, the rest were simply cuteness overload.

The dry ice effect set the mood for excitement.

The Halloween items were really creative, right down to the details! There were bloodshot eyeballs (white chocolate shell with raspberry fillings), spooky mousse tart, a giant ghost-vampire cake and, cookies in the shape of tombstones, fingers, more ghosts, and Frankenstein too

The colourful layered cake caught my eye with the white chocolate-coated strawberries crying a river of red.

Some Halloween structures looked even more realistic and intricate.

I have to say that the cutest award went to the mini ghost meringues plastered with various expressions.

At the alfresco, there were Indian food, dim sum, Chinese noodles and a Cavery

We got ourselves hunks of meats from here. They were a tad dry though the skin was rather tasty.

The restaurant was almost filled-up entirely. Even the outdoor seats were occupied.

You can’t eat a buffet without having a go at the seafood.

Kwee Zeen’s Seafood spread had me on cloud’s nine, especially with the Dungeness Crab, a rarity in most buffets I had been to. The crab shell was huge and you could tell that the crab meats were as bountiful. Other seafood on the ice included the Boston lobsters, Canadian snow crab, Tourteaux, half-shelled clams, prawns and four types of oysters.

Chef Jennifer was such a pleasant lady. She came to several tables and helped us deshell all the crustaceans!

Definitely, no excuses to skip the seafood (I know many of my friends do because of the tedious process of plucking meats from between the shells).

We had two to three rounds of seafood and each time she came over and deftly plucked out all the crabmeat. The prawns were highly recommended and before we could agree to it, she brought over a huge pile and in less than a minute, deshelled ten of these darlings!!

I remembered patronising another hotel restaurant where the chef won an award as the fastest oyster shucker. Surely Chef Jennifer must have an award hidden somewhere…

Don’t miss the caviar too. Best with some champagne as well.

The Sashimi beckoned to be eaten while the counter beside it featured a ginormous Whole Tuna, freshly cut up and sliced before you. The portion was more than enough to feed the entire crowd.

Most of the Hot Dishes were French/Italian/Spanish-inspired such as the escargots with spinach, lasagna, suckling pig and seafood paella.

There was also a Pasta station where we had a bowl of piping hot penne in truffle sauce.

Charcuterie, Condiments, Duck Rilletes, and Salmon Dip

Cheese, Breadsticks and Honeycomb

Bloody Mary Cocktail

What other places to best spend your Sunday afternoon than here!
