JW 360° Cafe – Japanese Matcha Mont Blanc, Cakes & Drinks in Jewel Changi Airport

Craving for some Japanese sweets? You might want to head over to JW 360° cafe that offers a wide range of Japanese desserts, ice cream and drinks,

JW 360° (pronounce as Japan Way Three Sixty) is a Japanese concept store with a cafe, restaurant and retail in Jewel Changi Airport.

The display of cakes at the storefront is appetising enough. Almost all the cakes, rolls, and tarts are infused with matcha. If you are a die-hard matcha fan, you would be spoilt for choice.

We eventually settled for three desserts – Sakura Cranberry $5.50, Sakura Raspberry Pie $9 and the popular Matcha Mont Blanc $9.

The Japanese beverages look tempting as well, from the classic Matcha Latte $9 to unique ones like the Buckwheat Latte $8 and Amazake (with Soymilk) $10.

The Matcha Mont Blanc definitely won us over. Accompanied by a nice swirl of Japanese chestnut paste, the midsection consists of light cream, matcha and raspberry layer for that added zestiness. The tart crust could be crumblier and buttery; this one seems dry out, probably been in the fridge for too long.

The Sakura Raspberry Pie had an almost similar base with raspberry and cream. A sakura meringue sat atop, perfect for the sweet tooth. it would be nicer had it been smoother with a melt-in-the-mouth texture. The tart fillings fare better and the matcha layer within was a nice surprise.

As for the Sakura and Blossom Cranberry Cake, it was too sweet for our liking.

Prices might seem on the high side here but I thought the portions are still generous. I would probably return to try the ice cream and drinks though.

We also hopped over the retail side of JW 360° which sells a range of Japanese products hardly seen anywhere else in Singapore.
