Jonker Street Night Market – Melaka Weekend Supper Guide to Seafood, Street Food & Fancy Drinks

Jonker Street Night Market is one of the largest and busiest night markets in Melaka, and the perfect hang-out for a late-night supper by the roadside, some shopping, and takeaway buns and snacks. When in Melaka, this is the place you shouldn’t miss out on. Head over during the weekends (it’s opened till late), and take a leisurely walk down the entire stretch of Jalan Hang Jebat.

As night falls, it can get really crowded. So go early if you want to avoid the human (and vehicle) traffic.

You can get a good variety of food options here. Some of the stalls have seats where you can order seafood zi char (e.g. scallops, oysters, clams and fishes) and dine on the spot. The rest of the food stalls feature street food where you can find mouth-watering grilled skewers, fried giant squid, potato rings, dim sum, edible dog-shaped mousse cake and adorable animal buns which have been making its round in night markets recently.

Retail shops lined the walkway and you might be keen to snag a few printed tees and keychains as gifts along the way.

Feeling thirsty? You can drink from whole watermelon, coconut, fancy milk teas and smoothies too.
