Gravitea Bar CNY cute Pineapple Tarts & Berry Orange Tea Blend

Perched on the second floor of Oxley Tower, which is situated at the corner of a four-way junction, Gravitea Bar has a sort of a gravity-defying sensation, despite only being on the second floor. That’s because the seats and tables are placed right next to the full windows that allow for lots of natural sunlight and a “levitational view”… all these while you sip on a cup of chilled tea!

Gravitea Bar is so-named because of its founders’ interest in the way plants grow. Plants’ roots respond directly to Earth’s gravitational pull, which is downwards – and they work like little voyagers going about on their journey to scavenge nutrients that its plant host deserves. Similarly, Gravitea Bar hopes to grow and expand with its roots embedded firmly in the ground (both metaphorically and physically).

Their obsession with tea is at the heart of everything that they do. Not only do they serve good quality and fresh tea, but they also do event pop-ups with their very own Gravitea custom-made bar.

For a more unique event pop-up experience for your guests, why not try this? It’s sleek, sexy, and has wheels for easy portability! Check it out here.

We tried their Chinese New Year specialties: The cute Pineapple Tarts ($8/box of 4), and the Berry Orange Tea Blended Smoothie ($4.50). Another tea we had too was the Four Seasons Chilled Tea ($2.90).

The tea-smoothie was not one bit sour – as I’d feared from its ‘citrusy’ name. It was pleasantly sweet, and it had the mild taste of a berry tea infused with orange. The chunks of strawberries inside also gave the drink texture and crunch! Just don’t forget to stir the smoothie before you drink, to mix up the berry syrup base with the orange smoothie. It’s a perfectly festive drink!

As for the Four Seasons Chilled Tea, I felt it tasted authentic and subtle, just like how teas taste like. It wasn’t bitter or bland, but a pleasant finish to the pastry parade I had earlier!

Next up, I tried the pineapple tarts, which go for $8 per box of four pieces. Aren’t they adorable?

The pineapple inside the tart is not overly sweet, but the pastry can be less sweet. I tasted a hint of food colouring, but other than that, the texture is nice and crumbly. It’s definitely an unconventional kind of pineapple tart, but we adore the idea. It will surely put a smile on anyone’s face this Chinese New Year. You can get it for friends, relatives or neighbors – it does make a good gift – though the pricing is slightly steep.

If I’d brought my laptop, I’d most probably have sat there half the day because of the quiet atmosphere, the beautiful view, and lovely tea.

Don’t miss out on the CNY smoothie drinks (Berry Orange $4.50 and Mango Matcha $6.90) and pineapple tarts from now till 10 February 2019!
