Ginger Asian Kitchen at PARKROYAL on Beach Road – New Restaurant On Local Favourites

Ginger Asian Kitchen has replaced the defunct Plaza Brasserie at PARKROYAL on Beach Road.

Helmed by award-winning Chef Andy Oh, with a focus on local food fare and roots in traditional asian cooking, expect a tantalising spread of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Peranakan cuisines to bring you a trip down memory lane.

Here’s a sneak peak at the dining experience.

Ginger Asian Kitchen’s buffet line greets with a long stretch of cooked dishes featuring local favourites such as the Salted Egg Yolk Crab, Clams, Oxtail and Fried Chicken.

Pertaining to local heritage and tastebuds are signature items like Oyster Omelette fried on the spot, Beef Cheek Rendang, Ayam Masak Merah, Tandoori Lamb Rack, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Penang Assam Laksa, Penang Hokkein King Prawn Noodles, Char Kuay Teow and even Rojak!

You can also DIY your own Kuih Pie Tee by filling the crunchy shell with braised radish and shredded crab meats.

The Indian station offers very tasty Tandoori Lamb Racks which was one of my favourite dish. The curry available in hotpot beside it, is also great for pairing your Pratas with.

Ginger Asian Kitchen has three new creations to commemorate its opening . Helmed by Chef Andy Oh, the three exciting dishes are the Crustacean Hotpot, Salt-Baked Whole Seasonal Fish, and Chilli Crab.

Seafood aficionados would flock for the Crustacean Hotpot which consists of lobsters, mussels, clams, crab and tiger prawns in a flavoursome seafood broth.

As for the chilli crab, it comes with mantou, great for dipping into the spicy tangy sauce.

No fret, meat lovers also get their fair share of roast meats featuring ducks, char siew, crispy pork belly and chicken.

Don’t miss out on the Satays grilled on the spot and served hot. Grab some Assorted Crackers to go along too.

There is also a wide range of Seafood on Ice and a Salad Bar for a little guilt-free indulgence.

Save some tummy space for desserts. The Nyonya Kuehs are not only visually appealing but delicious too. Some non-asian pastries include the Cheesecake, Brownies and Rainbow Cake.

I would highly recommend the Lemongrass and Gula Melaka Ice cream created by Chef Andy Oh too. Very nice flavours and smooth creamy texture.
