Fling Nails Singapore Home-based Nail Salon in Woodlands

Fling Nails is a home-based nail salon located in Woodlands, near The Woodgrove. Prices are really affordable; nail arts are good; owner is friendly.

I was introduced to Fling Nails by my cousin after seeing her beautiful (almost ridiculous) manicure during Chinese New Year this year. Her nails were meticulously decorated with lots of glitters and studs – how she managed to change her clothes and wash her hair is beyond my imagination.

Yes I was enthralled and back then I have’t done any manicure before. I tried to get one for the new year but the prices from the many nail salons I went to check were exorbitant, especially after the surcharge.

Perhaps you might have the same thoughts as me – why pay $100 over for 10 painted nails which would grow out after one or two months? And if you want something more fanciful, the manicurist would charge extra for each nail. *sweat

My favourite nail design

After I got the contact form my cousin, I gave Hui Wen, Fling Nail’s manicurist, a text to book an appointment. She asked for some samples of the kind of nail designs I wanted and I gladly googled some desirable ones to send over.

I wanted Fendi Design! Here’s the result of the nail design she did for me; the left hand’s at the end of the post. So nice!

Hui Wen had a room cordoned off for her nail services. It was packed with all kinds of nail-related stuffs, boxes of unopened nail polish, nail glitters, accessories etc. It was like walking into an actual nail salon, just that Fling Nail is cosier and makes you feel homely.

She has also won several awards and is featured on our local newspaper too.

Hui Wen quoted me two hours for the nail session and I thought those Fendi Monsters design would make the cut. Pardon the noob-ness in me, but I have always believed that manicure is like painting everything onto the nails, let it dry and that’s it.

BUT no, the thing is each colour painted onto the nails need to be dried first before the next colour can be added.

And I just happened to choose the Fendi design which consisted of so many colours with a different design for each nail!

So two hours became four hours of sitting there, chit chatting, listening to music and sleeping.

If you are thinking that’s so long, hold it there!

I have to put a disclaimer here that the designs I got could be tedious with the drawings and different colours.

On the other hand, Hui Wen was extremely (I need to stress this) meticulous in her work. I could tell from the way she ensured each nail was properly cut, cleaned, trimmed, painted, dried and polished, that she took pride in what she was doing. She could draw almost any patterns I gave her and she had done many many designs for other customers too!

The entire process was very flexible too. I could ask for change of colours or an extra stroke on the nail and she would be more than willing to adjust it according to your preferences.

But of course, it is best to decide beforehand and let her do on the spot so as to give you the best nail experience. As that was my first time, I realised painting nails wasn’t as easy as it seems and what designs given would make a difference.

Really kudos to her for her great effort and understanding!

I was really apologetic for taking up her time and my lack of understanding in the nail art industry.

The little table was filled with so much stuff for each nail procedure.

After that first time, I went back again and again each time my nail started growing out to half the length. The following designs took about one to two hours time to finish and they were so pretty! Plus it was way affordable for the quality you are getting as compared to other salons.

I still love this Fendi art. So cute!
