Crystal Jade Prestige at MBFC For Contemporary Chinese Cuisine

Chinese cuisine just get uplifted at Crystal Jade Prestige (at MBFC) with their majestic decor and of course, the drool-worthy food. Featuring modernistic Chinese culinary, you can expect not only the exquisiteness of the plating but also intricate flavours of each dish.

The menu is an extensive one ranging from appetizers, soups to meats speciality, big plates, rice and noodles.

We had an order of several signature dishes with some outstanding ones.

Szechuan Hot & Sour Thick Soup $10.80

This comes in a rather substantial portion filled with generous amount of ingredients. I particularly enjoy the taste of the soup for its spiciness and the texture is neither overly gooey nor diluted.

Free Range Spanish Iberico BBQ Pork $21.80

Instead of the typical Char Siew that can be tougher and chewier, the BBQ pork here is tender and moist while drenched in a sweet sauce. The usage of Spanish Iberico contributes to the texture, hence quality. Pairing it with some sliced green apple coated in plum sauce, it marries the sweetness of the pork well.

My dad loves this the best.

Prestige Pipa Duck with Fermented Beancurd $20.80 per portion, $30.80 half, $52 whole

Something unique about this dish is that the duck is brushed with fermented beancurd before being roasted. The result is a sweet and savoury firm meat with a layer of fats underneath the skin.

Poached Sliced Garoupa with Chrysanthemum and Ginger in Superior Rice Wine Sauce $38 Small, $57 Large

My favourite has to be this bowl of sliced garoupa and black fungus in a very flavourful rice wine sauce. The soup is rich and stimulating which enhances the taste of the garoupa.

We slurped it clean because it was that good. Highly recommended.

Sauteed Vegetables $18

There is also a vegetarian section in the menu. This plate of vegetables are stir fried to beautiful shades of greens, plus the additional of a couple of chopped capsicums makes it even more colorful. Crunchy and healthy.

Prestige Signature Dim Sum Platter $11.80

A basket of four assorted dim sum which consists of:

Prawn and Carrot Dumpling

Assorted Mushroom Dumpling

Osmanthus Dumpling with Scallop and Celery

Water Chestnut Dumpling with Olive and Chinese Parsley

The goldfish dumpling is super cute.

Don’t leave Crystal Jade Prestige without their desserts too!

Steamed Pandan Bun with Green Tea Filling $8 for four

These yummy buns got me hooked with their flow of luscious green tea while the aroma of pandan wafted through the air.

Chilled Mango Puree with Pomelo and Sago topped with Coconut Ice Cream $7.80

Totally an all-time favourite with its sweet and creamy pairing.

Lemongrass Jelly and Sour Plum in Lime $6.80

For those who wants a refreshing dessert to ease on the tummy, this would be a good choice. Served chilled with ice and plum sauce within, the sourness cuts through the heavy meal we had.

There is still so much more on the menu to try. Sounds like a return visit is warranted given the quality of the dishes. Currently, weekends dim sum lunch diners are also entitled to 25% off with their classic dim sums and appetisers.
