Chicken Up Singapore – Snow Squid Topokki & Korean Fried Chicken

Chicken Up is voted as one of the best fried chicken in Singapore. I remembered their Soya Chicken Wings as being moist and meaty as I bit through the thin crispy skin. It was during those early days when the only Chicken Up outlet was at Tanjong Pagar, and now they have successfully opened several branches across Singapore.

We visited the Centrepoint outlet some time back while craving for Korean food in town. It was relatively crowded on a weekend night. Also do check out their Facebook page / website as they have promotions now and then.

Starting off with the Beerita! It’s my favourite kind of drink in a Korean restaurant. For stronger kick, go for the Sojurita.

We also the Ugly Tang that was a pot of army stew. There were tons of ingredients such as Spam, Pork Belly, Sausages, Baked beans, Enoki Mushrooms, Macaroni and Ramen. These could easily feed three to four pax.

The stew was rich, slightly spicy and became more flavourful as the food got cooked longer.

The Snow Squid Topokki featured a hot pan with a giant crispy squid in a puddle of spicy sauce. The squid was cut up and soaked in the simmering sauce as the pan continued to heat up.

It was chewy and could get spicy with the hot sauce. Pair it with the Assorted Cheese Fondue, Corn Cheese and Kimchi Fried Rice on the side which would even out the taste nicely.

The squid was so yummy!

Chicken Up currently has four branches in SingaporeBuangkok, Centrepoint, Parkway Parade and Tanjong Pagar. It has also two in MalaysiaAustin and Subang Jaya.

Chicken Up offers an extensive menu ranging from their signature Fried Chicken (Soya, Spicy Yangnyum and Yangnyum), small bites such as Truffle Fries, Bulgogi Fries, Spam Rice Balls and Seafood Pancake, to mains like the Mama Ginseng Chicken Soup and Jabchae, a popular Korean staple.
