Cafe Asia 2018 – 7 Food and Drinks Brands You Shouldn’t Miss

While Singapore’s food and beverage scene may be thriving, with dozens of new concepts and franchises opening its doors on our sunny island every month, there’s always that feeling that there’s more out there that our tastebuds haven’t discovered. As Singapore’s largest dedicated show for the coffee industry, Cafe Asia 2018 provided a much needed refresher for local foodies.

Exploring new frontiers of coffee, tea and bakery, the International Coffee & Tea (ICT) Industry Expo 2018and Sweets and Bakes Asia (SBA) 2018 were held concurrently at Marina Bay Sands, Expo and Convention Centre Hall B. Spanned across three days, this comprehensive event boasted a one-stop-for-all hub with cafes, tea and coffee purveyors from all over the world, workshops by international instructors, Australian Tea Masters Class, national-level coffee championships and many more!

While the exhibition has come and gone, here are 7 F&B brands discovered, with some not-yet-in- Singapore brands giving us a sneak peek of what’s to come!

Selfie Coffee by Kaffa Kaldi

While the concept of “selfie coffee” is not entirely new, combines the latte art and technology into one convenient mix. All it takes is a simple download of their mobile app, and you’ll be able to snap a selfie which you can print on as many cups of coffee as you want!

Pro tip: to be able to see your selfie as clearly as possible, print it twice.

Stirling Highway

A humble cafe located just a stone’s throw away from Buona Vista, Stirling Highway’s baked goods were a perfect example of substance over style. The unassuming offerings may appear not be as eye-catching as other creations we’ve seen making the rounds on Instagram – but that doesn’t matter once you sink you teeth into the deliciously moist sponge cakes.

Molly Eleonora Coppini

Molly Eleonora Coppini is a renowned baker whose brightly coloured cupcakes certainly caught our attention. With rich buttercream artfully moulded into intricate flowers, and pastel shaded Disney characters shaped from fondant, you’ll know who to call next when planning your child’s birthday celebration!

Cong Coffee

Hailing from Vietnam, Cong is a coffee meets lifestyle franchise that has also found its way to South Korea. It’s not available in Singapore yet, but we definitely wish it was so we can re-live the rich, full bodied brews they whipped up at Cafe Asia!

Super Drink

A German brand newly launched in Singapore, Super Drink supplies both energy drinks, as well as a concoction that is supposed to help you relax after a busy day. Can you guess which one is which?

Capi

Can’t decide between indulging your cravings for soda and sticking to your health regime? Capi’s the brew for you. The cola is a less gassy version of your usual coca-cola, albeit with fuller flavours.

Personal favourite’s the Yuzu!

Premier’s Tea Moods

Another newcomer to Singapore, Premier’s Tea Moods impressed us with its sheer variety of tea leaves, from Moroccan Mint to Darjeeling, A.K.A. The Champagne of Teas. You can get it in ready made tea bags, or in a tin of loose leaves!
