Beta KL – Malaysia’s Chic Bar for one-of-a-kind Craft Cocktails

Beta KL is the sister bar-and-restaurant of Skillet @ 163. While the later surprises with its eclectic twists on Modern European cuisine, Beta KL promises an evening of Asian-inspired sharing menu and an inviting cocktail list that shines as brightly as its decor.

Tucked away at Fraser Place in Kuala Lumpur, and only a stone’s throw away from Skillet @ 163, Beta KL might seem reclusive but its ambience is cosy enough for you to speak at comfortable levels. Set in eternal dusk, Beta KL’s stylish colourful lights creates a sense of intimacy, disco-sy and contemporary vibes.

Furthermore, the spacious area is punctuated by an expansive floor-to-ceiling vault housing a display of expensive-looking liquors and champagne bottles.

I started off with a digestif, courtesy of my dining at Skillet @ 163.

The craft cocktails are listed according to the four regions of Malaysia – North, South, East and West – with each cocktail bearing at least a flavour or ingredient of the origin.

So, I ‘Journey(ed) to the Central’ with the Hybrid Brew RM 42 that comes with an impactful concoction of Jujube Gin, Coffee Vermouth, Fernet Branca, Irish Whiskey and Lapsang Souchong Tea.

Some other interesting and recommended ones on the menu include the whiskey-based Malaya Milk Punch RM 40 that contains ginger and corn milk, and the refreshing Raya Mule RM 40.
