Baan Ying Singapore – One Meal Around Thailand Set Menu Promo in Royal Square, Novena

As a proud recipient of the Royal Thai Government’s ‘Thai SELECT Premium’ award that rewards restaurants for their quality Thai cuisine, beautiful interior and outstanding service, Baan Ying has been serving authentic Thai cuisine in Singapore since 2018.

This year, from 9 July to 30 September, Baan Ying presents the ‘One Meal Around Thailand’ which features an unprecedented Thai feast with flavours from North, South, North-East and Central Thailand.

Three set menus are available for the promotion: Superior ($58.80++ for two diners), Deluxe ($128.80++ for four diners) and Grand Tour ($298.80 for eight diners).

Diners can look forward to a delectable spread of a welcome drink, amuse bouche, four types of Nam Prik (Thai Chilli Dip) with seasonal vegetables, Som Tum (Green Papaya Salad) platter with assorted toppings, frozen Butterfly Pea Tea and Coconut Shot, and a dessert of Crème Brûlée Cha Thai (Thai Milk Tea Crème Brûlée) served with Herbal Tea. The mains differs slightly across the different sets.

*Nam Prik: Nam Prik Goong Seab (Dried Shrimp Chilli Dip), Nam Prik Tah Daeng (Red Chilli Dip), Soup Makuer (Spicy Thai Eggplant Chilli Dip) and Lhon Pla Kem (Salted Fish Dip)

The Khai Pam (Grilled Omelette) is a dish from North Thailand. The mixture of egg, spring onion and carrot is partially wrapped in a banana leaf and charcoal-grilled, resulting in an eggy fragrance and custard-like texture.

From Central Thailand, the Gaeng Som Pae Sah (Fried Sea Bass in Tamarind Soup) is the highlight of the meal. A fish-shaped bowl presents a whole sea bass with mixed vegetables cooked till soft in the tangy, aromatic curry, while accentuated by tamarind and other herbs. It was instant love the moment I tasted it.

If it can be ordered from the ala carte menu too, I would definitely make a beeline for this.
