Angie’s Oyster Bar $1++ Oyster Promo & Shellfish with Free-Flow Fries

Second visit to Angie’s Oyster Bar after what seemed like more than a year ago felt like I had just stepped into a time capsule and got teleported back to those days I stuffed myself silly with shellfish.

I felt a wave of nostalgia stepping into the enclave perched on the 45th floor of Singapore Land Tower. The all-too-familiar alfresco boasts a constant strong breeze of wind and good panorama view of the sights and sounds of Singapore. Far from the hustle and bustle of city life, Angie’s Oyster Bar is probably one reason diners enjoy lounging in.

And the second reason that would surely hook any crustacean lovers out there is the super affordable oyster promotion! Where else can you get Happy Hour Oysters with Fine de Claire at $1++! That’s only $12++ for a dozen!

More premium oysters are available up till $4++ each.

I would recommend having their Clams or Mussels or Combination (main 750g – $38, bowl 250g – $19) cooked from a given list of sauce base.

One of our favourite combination was the Traditionelle Clams cooked in white wine, celery, garlic and onion. The flavour was rich and brought out the sweetness of the clams.

We got a little daring, pairing the Angie’s (made of dried shrimp, tomato, ginger and assam chilli) with Clams again. The taste was more pungent and lingered on the tongue. It was either you love it or hate it. While my companions preferred the former, I took a fancy on this.

Tom Yum Mussels can’t go wrong. I adore the spicy, sourish kick of the broth which I would happily slurp up every morsel of. The mussels were plump and juicy and I simply needed more servings of this.

Do you know every order of the Clams or Mussels or Combination would get you a bucket of free-flow fries?? These fries were thick cut with crisp edges.

We also tried some of the starters such as the Smoked Salmon Tartare $16++. Topped with caviar and dill, the salmon tartare made a good spread across the crispy crackers which I popped into my mouth straight. Nice.

Diver Scallop Ceviche $20++ was a beautiful mess of scallops beneath a layer of sliced granny smith apple, avocado, shallot and mesclun leaves. It looked good but the taste was somewhat on the bland side, lacking dimension and boring after a few mouthful.

There is also happy hour for drinks including the House Pint, Prosecco and Rose Prosecco at $10++ each.

Angie’s Oyster Bar is one of those places that you should have on your bucket list. For really crazy oyster promotion, the ultimate seafood lover and dining with a view, these would fulfil the craving in you.
