Ah Mah Homemade Cake – New Castella-inspired Marblelous Swirl Cake

Ah Mah Homemade Cake made its Singapore debut on 14 July 2017 where it soared from one to 10 outlets islandwide in under a year.

Originated from Tamsui, Taiwan, Chef Jim improvised on the traditional recipe to suit local tastebuds. These eggy sponge cakes originally came in flavours of Original $8 and Cheese $11, freshly baked daily.

Made purely with milk, flour and Grade AA high-quality eggs from Singapore’s N&N farms, Ah Mah Homemade Cake is baked for only 80 minutes and the result is a fluffy and almost wobbly slab of egg sponge cake fresh out of the oven.

From 4 March to 30 April 2019, sink your teeth into the limited edition Marblelous Swirl Cake $11 created by Ah Mah Homemade Cake’s head chef, Chef Andrew Tay.

Still a castella cake but imprinted with chocolatey leopard stripes. The texture was bread-like fibrous but soft and moist. I could taste the dark chocolate while the surprise unfolds from within where the bits of chocolate shavings are swirled into.

It was really marvellous with a nice balance of sweet and bitterness.
